How much does a small business website cost?
Most owners pick one of three paths. You can build it yourself on Wix or Squarespace, which costs a monthly fee plus a lot of your time. You can hire an agency, which often costs $2,500 or more up front. Or you can choose a monthly plan like mine: $0 down, from $99 a month, with hosting and edits included.
Should I use Wix or hire a web designer?
If you enjoy building it yourself and have the time, Wix or Squarespace can work fine. Hire someone if you'd rather spend that time on your business. With me, your site is designed, built, hosted and updated for you. I also set up your Google profile and reviews, and you have a real person to text when you need a change.
Is the mockup really free?
Yes. Tell me about your business and I'll design a homepage mockup for you at no cost. We'll go over it together. If you don't want to go ahead, you don't owe me anything.
What do I pay to get started?
Nothing up front. There's no setup fee: your first monthly payment is due when you sign, and the plan runs for a 6-month minimum.
What happens after the 6-month minimum?
Your plan simply continues month to month, and you can cancel whenever you like. If you cancel early, you pay the months left in the minimum.
Do I own my website?
You always own your domain name and everything you give me: your text, photos and logo. On a monthly plan, the site's code is licensed to you while you're subscribed. If you'd rather own the code outright, pay once instead: from $2,200, plus $35 a month for hosting. If you ever move to another web designer, I'll hand over your files and the hosting stops.
How long does it take to launch?
Most sites go live within 2 weeks of receiving your content. Need it sooner? Rush launch in 5 days is available.
What does the AI chat assistant do?
It answers common questions about your hours, prices and services at any time of day, and points customers to your booking page. It only uses information you approve, and I can turn it off whenever you want.
Do you have a referral reward?
Yes. Send me a business that signs up, and you both get a free month: one month free on your plan, and their first month free.
Do you work with businesses outside Oahu?
Yes. I'm based in Honolulu and work with small businesses anywhere in the US. Oahu clients can meet in person; everyone else meets over video.
Do you offer a discount for local businesses?
Yes. Independent, locally owned Hawaii businesses get 25% off any monthly plan. Just mention it when you reach out.
What do all these website words mean?
Here are the terms you'll see on this site, in plain English.
- Domain
- Your website's address, like yourbusiness.com. You pay a small yearly fee to keep it, and it's always yours.
- Hosting
- Renting space on a computer that's always on and online, so your website loads any time someone visits. It's included in every monthly plan. With the pay-once option, hosting is a monthly fee.
- Custom-coded
- I write the website by hand instead of using a drag-and-drop builder. Your design is made just for you.
- Page speed
- How fast your site opens. Google scores it from 0 to 100. Slow sites lose visitors before they even load.
- SEO
- Search engine optimization: setting up your site so Google understands what you do and shows it to people searching for it.
- Google Business Profile
- Your free listing on Google Maps and Search, with your hours, photos, phone number and reviews.
- Missed-call text-back
- If you miss a call, the caller gets an automatic text, so they don't call someone else.
- Accessibility
- Making your site easy to use for everyone, including people with low vision or other disabilities.
